2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

Overview

The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a compact SUV built to provide the VW driving experience in an efficient package. Designed with a sleek, aerodynamic style and two rows of seating, this vehicle prioritizes style for the driver who wants to show off a little. With simplified trim levels from the previous model years, the 2023 Atlas Cross Sport is as reliable and easy-handling as ever. It’s a sportier version of the Volkswagen Atlas with a more aggressive design, with only a little compromise on seating configurations or cargo space despite the compact size. It has the safety features and responsiveness needed by less experienced drivers, making it a good choice as a first car. Advanced control over the digital infotainment screens and dashboard clusters are also new features for this year’s model.

The Perfect Ride For…

Drivers who need responsiveness and power to deal with challenging driving situations both in the city and on rural roads. A turbocharged engine provides the acceleration for getting going in a hurry, while great fuel efficiency ensures that your daily commute will stay within your budget. The emphasis on a stylish exterior and luxury interior options to match makes it a great choice for anyone who wants to turn heads in the parking lot. It can compete with luxury SUV models in terms of styling, while Volkswagen's reliability and performance make it a good choice as a daily driver vehicle. Seating for up to five makes it a good choice for a growing family or someone who regularly carpools with co-workers. With a spacious interior and good entertainment and climate control options for all passengers, it’s the ideal compact SUV for taking on a long road trip.

Drive and Handling

The 2023 Atlas Cross Sport has two engines to choose from, including a standard four-cylinder 2.0L engine with a turbo that offers a top 235 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. For a slightly more aggressive takeoff, upgrade to the V6 3.6L engine that produces 276 HP and 266 lb-ft of torque. The average fuel efficiency for this compact SUV is 20 MPG for city driving and 25 MPG on the highway. Front-wheel drive is standard on all trim packages, but a four-mode all-wheel drive option is also available known as 4MOTION. The 8-speed shiftable automatic transmission gives you control for dealing with climbing hills or stop-and-go traffic. With the rear seats folded down, the interior offers a surprising 77.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Six different stability-increasing systems, ranging from Electronic stability control to Brake Pressure Distribution, provide help when you need it the most to avoid collisions.
